We’re nearing the end of the year, but that doesn’t mean it’s time to slow down! The USSD Winter Grand Championship Tournament is now less than two weeks away and everyone has been working hard to get ready for it. If you haven’t registered yet, you can do so online at www.USSD.com by clicking the red Tournament poster on the right or by Clicking Here. It’s fast and easy, but if you have any questions, feel free to give us a call or email for help. Since all Instructors and most students will be at the Tournament, there will be no Martial Arts group or private lessons on Saturday, December 3rd.
Tournament competition is not required for students to get their next belts, but it is highly recommended. Students who compete regularly generally improve much faster in their forms and sparring and are more likely to continue training all the way through to their Black Belts. Tournaments also give students, parents, and Instructors the opportunity to come together as a team and show our support for one another. Win or lose, competing as part of a strong team helps kids and adults improve their confidence and self-esteem, learn sportsmanship, and have a lot of fun! The bigger Team San Clemente is, the better the chance we have of winning our third consecutive Championship!
On another note, the Dojo will be closed for ALL Martial Arts group and private lessons on Thursday, November 24th for Thanksgiving. CrossFit will be open for the 9:00 am class only on that day.
If you or your child has a private lesson scheduled for November 24th or December 3rd, you can reschedule it for another day the following week or your Instructor will present you with a voucher so you can make it up after the holiday season.
Once the Tournament is over, we’ll be on regular schedule until Friday, December 23rd, which is our last day before we close for the holidays. The Dojo will reopen on regular schedule on Monday, January 2nd, 2012.
It’s been a great year so far, so let’s finish it off strong! Go Team San Clemente!
