Ready to Rock-tober
And here we are, just about to board that crazy train that will take us from Halloween to New Year's Eve at what will seem like the speed of light. Buckle up, here's what's coming up in October at the Dojo:
September 2017 Student of the Month, Nicole R.
Another HUGE "Congratulations" goes out to everyone who competed in the Fall 2017 Dojo Tournament! We were proud to see all of the hard work that our students put into their training pay off and translate into improved Sparring, Katas, and Grappling. The Official Results have been posted up on the Tournament page, and you can check them out by Clicking Here. We hope to have the photos we took at the event up on our Facebook page very soon.
There will be one last opportunity for our students to compete this year at the USSD Winter Grand Championship Tournament on Saturday, December 9th in Orange, CA.
When you put in so much hard work, sometimes you have to reward yourself, and that goes for kids AND adults. We'll do just that on Saturday, October 21st at our annual Halloween Ninja Night!
Calling all kids ages 5 to 11, don your best costume and head on over to the Haunted Dojo for a spooky good time! A night full of Games, exciting Challenges, a Pizza Party, Costume Contests, Raffle Prizes, a Pinata, and more awaits you!
Parents, leave the party-planning to us while you enjoy a few hours to grab dinner, see a scary movie, or hang up some cobwebs and skeletons.
Kids do not need to be students to join the party, but sign-up forms are due back at the Dojo no later than... wait for it... FRIDAY THE 13TH! BWAHAHAHA! Space is limited, so grab a sign-up sheet at the front desk in the Dojo or Click Here to print your own. We hope to see you there!
Looking forward to Halloween on Tuesday, October 31st, the Dojo will be open and on regular schedule. If you want to get a head start on your Trick-or-Treating and won't be able to make it in for your lesson that day, please let your instructor know ahead of time so we can reschedule it with you for another day.
Coming up on November 3rd and 4th we've got something much scarier than Halloween... BELT TESTING! The final Teen/Adult Belt Test of 2017 will be held on Friday, November 3rd at 6:00 pm. There will be no Teens or Adult Kempo Group Classes that evening.
The final Kids Belt Test of 2017 will be on Saturday, November 4th at 11:30 am. Your/your child's instructor will let you know if you/your child will be ready for the November Test.

On one final, and very important note...
October is National Bullying Prevention Month. One of the most rewarding things about teaching Martial Arts is seeing our students of all ages gain confidence and improve their self-esteem through Martial Arts training. Knowing that you have the ability to defend yourself in a physical confrontation improves the way you feel about yourself, which also makes you less likely to be targeted by bullies (of all types) in the first place.
But bullying isn't something to be taken lightly. It can do more than just ruin someone's day, it destroys lives every year. If you suspect that your child (of any age) is being bullied, or that your child may be exhibiting bullying behavior, we can help.
