Dojo Love

Wow. January seemed kinda long, didn't it? Dragging our way out of the holiday haze was quite a transition, especially considering all of the colds and flu that have been going around! But here we are in the shortest month of the year, and even though it's only 28 days this year, we sure plan on making the most of it by continuing to set and crush those #DojoGoals!

Speaking of cold and flu season, we have to get extra serious for a minute and remind everyone that they should NOT come in to train or send their kids in for group classes or private lessons if you/they are sick, or have had fever or symptoms of a stomach bug within the last 24 hours. We do a lot of grappling and partner work that requires us to be in very close proximity to one another, and when you bring bugs into the Dojo, the whole class and the instructors are put at risk of catching it. The best thing to do is let us know you can't make it in and stay home and rest so you can get your health back to 100% a lot sooner.

Switching gears, congratulations to our January 2018 Student of the Month, Evie E. of the Lil Dragons class! Great work, Evie. (photo coming soon)

We've got a very big weekend ahead! This Friday is the Teen/Adult Belt Test, so there will be no Teen or Adult group classes on Friday, February 2nd. This Saturday is the Kids Belt Test. All private lessons for Friday and Saturday will remain on regular schedule unless your instructor has already spoken to you about rescheduling for another date or time. An email has already been sent out to everyone who was invited to test with all of the details and reminders, so be sure and check you inbox.

We also have two students from our Teens class heading up to USSD headquarters this Saturday to test for their 3rd degree Brown Belts! Stay tuned for updates and photos from all of this weekend's events.

Also coming up this month is registration for Ninja Camp 2018! Our annual summer camp rooted in defense against bullying, "Stranger Danger" self-defense, and a whole lot of fun will stretch from Wednesday, August 1st until Friday, August 3rd, from 8:00 am to noon each day. Ninja Camp registration is open to the public (you do not have to be a student to participate), for kids ages 5 to 11.

A discounted "Early-Bird" registration will open for our students and their siblings only beginning on Monday, February 12th and ending on Monday, February 19th. After that, registration will continue at regular price (discounted pricing for siblings) until all spots have been filled. Keep an eye out for our post with all of the pricing info, dates, and registration forms coming next week!

Feeling patriotic? The Dojo will remain open and on regular schedule for the entire President's Day weekend (Friday, 2/16 ~ Monday, 2/19). If you plan on heading out of town and will miss a scheduled private lesson, please let your instructors know at least 24 hours ahead of time so we can reschedule it with you when you get back.

If you haven't already, be sure and take a look at our 2018 Dojo Calendar of Events which lists all of the exciting and important events we have going on until the end of he year, including Belt Tests, Tournaments, summer camps, holiday closures, and more.

Stay focused on those #DojoGoals and we'll see you in the Dojo!
