"Smarch" At The Dojo
Last I checked we were still living in "sunny" SoCal, but it's become easy to forget with the crazy cold and wet weather we've had heading into Spring. The good news is that Martial Arts are kind of a "rain or shine" thing, so you can count on the Dojo to be there when all of your other sports get cancelled for weather issues.
We've got some big things coming up as we head into spring, take a look below to see whats coming up in March.
Congratulations to our February 2019 Student of the Month, Eden H.! It was a tight race this month, but Eden pushed hard from beginning to end. Great work!
Registration for Bully Blockers Ninja Camp 2019 is still on! Students and their families can grab a registration sheet from the front desk at the Dojo. All non-students can can register online through the City of San Clemente's Recreation programs and camps by Clicking Here (scroll down to "Martial Arts" and select "Bully Blockers Summer Camp"). To learn more about Bully Blockers or to print your own registration form, Click Here. Space is limited. This is one fun and exciting summer camp that no kid can afford to miss!
Beginning this month, we'll be inviting some of our High Rank Juniors students to stay for extra Jiu-Jitsu practice with the Teens during their Friday group class. If your child is Blue Belt or higher and interested in working on more advanced BJJ and sparring techniques, speak with Sensei Richard or Miss Meka to see if they're ready. Friday Teens classes are from 6:00 to 7:00 pm, by invitation only.
A few of us will be heading out to Las Vegas on April 13th for the USSD Grand Championship Tournament. If you'd like to come out and compete for the day, or stay and make a weekend out of it, you can Click Here to head over to the USSD website to register for Sparring and Standard Forms events. If you don't think you can make it, don't worry! The USSD Orange County Tournament will be back in early June, so everyone will have an opportunity to compete before summer.
Just a reminder, if you or your child are sick, especially if you've had a fever or stomach bug anytime within the last 24 hours, please stay home and rest and do not come into the Dojo. Training is a lot less fun when your partner has a runny nose or is coughing all over you, and spreading germs into the Dojo leads to more sick students (and instructors!). You can call or text us at 949-361-9111 to let us know if you can't make it in for your scheduled lessons. Help us keep our Dojo clean and healthy for everyone!
Have a great month, and we'll see you in the Dojo!
