Never fear, registration for the Spring 2019 Dojo Tournament is here! the USSD Orange County Tournament may have been cancelled on us, but we're not going to let a little thing like that stop us from getting some exciting competition in before summer arrives. And what better way to get summer started than with our Summer Showdown Family BBQ and a performance from the Demo Team!
The Dojo Tournament is an In-House Tournament held here at the Dojo for USSD San Clemente students ONLY. Students ages 4 and up compete in exciting Sparring, Katas (Forms), and Grappling events in a fun and safe atmosphere, cheered on by friends and family.
This competition is open to all of our Teen, Junior, and Lil Dragon students from White to Black Belt (Competitors will be split up into divisions based on age and rank).
For kids, it’s a great way to learn about the importance of Goal-setting and Sportsmanship, and competing in a fun and safe environment helps boost students’ Confidence and Self-Esteem. It’s also a great way for parents to measure the improvement their child has made in different areas of his/her training, and for friends and family to show their support for the students!
Students who regularly compete in Tournaments also tend to have an easier time remembering and applying their techniques, and it’s one of the best ways to prepare them for future Belt Tests, and regional USSD Tournaments.
Trophies and Medals will be awarded to the top 3 finishers in each division! The cost is $25 to compete in all 3 events. Adult spectator tickets are $4 and kids 12 and under spectator tickets are FREE.
Beginning immediately following the morning Tournament events, we'll be celebrating our first (almost) full year at the new location with our annual Summer Showdown BBQ! Join us for a performance from the Demo Team, food fresh off the grill, cold drinks, and more. BBQ tickets are $5 for adults and FREE for all Tournament Competitors and kids under 12.
