No Chill November

Did you survive September and October? Great! Because we may be heading into the thick of holiday season, but things are definitely not slowing down. Take a look at what's coming up at the Dojo this month.

Another "Congratulations" goes to out to everyone who competed in last month's Dojo Tournament! We'll have more photo highlights up on our Instagram over the next couple of weeks, and if you got any great shots at the tournament, please tag us (@ussdsc) so we can share with the rest of the Dojo.

The Teen/Adult Belt Test is Friday, November 1st at 6:00 pm sharp. There will be no Teens or Adults group classes that day.

The Kids Belt Test is this Saturday, November 2nd at 10:00 am sharp. Parents may come back to view the final portion of the Test at 11:30 am.

Quite a few of our Brown Belt Instructors, Assistant Instructors, and students will be heading up to USSD Headquarters this Saturday to test for their next ranks, including Mr. Jose who will be testing for his Black Belt. We won't wish you luck, because Team San Clemente doesn't need luck. Show 'em how it's done!

Registration is now open for the USSD Southern California Regional Tournament which will take place on Saturday, December 7th at Santiago Canyon College in Orange. The cost is $50 to compete in one event, or $75 to compete in two events (we recommend that our students compete in Sparring and Forms events only).

To register, Click Here to head over to the USSD website. Students who register by November 15th will receive a free tournament patch. The Event Guide/schedule of events has not yet been posted, but they should hopefully have that up soon, at which point we'll send the link out to our students.

This will be the last opportunity for our students to compete in 2019, so especially if you missed the last Dojo Tournament, or if you are trying to test your skills to see if you'll be ready to test for your next rank early next year, you should try to make it if possible. And while tournament competition is an important part of your Martial Arts training (competing in any one tournament is not mandatory in order to progress to the next rank, but we recommend that students compete at least 2-3 times per year), we understand that this tournament is expensive and right in the middle of the holiday season, so if you can't make it, don't stress. Go Team San Clemente!

The Dojo will remain open and on regular schedule on Monday, November 11th (Veteran's Day). If you/your child will not be able to make it in for your private lesson, please let your instructor know ASAP.

Happy Thanksgiving! The Dojo will be closed on Thursday, November 28th. If you have a private lesson scheduled that day, please see your instructor so we can reschedule it for another date.
