It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Chaos

One day you're Trick-Or-Treating with the kids, and the next day it's Christmas. Or at least that's what it feels like! We've still got a few weeks until the end of the year and our Holiday Break, but we aren't slowing down just yet! Take a look at what's coming up at the Dojo.

First up, Congratulations to everyone who earned their new ranks last month! And an especially HUGE CONGRATULATIONS goes to Mr. Jose who earned his Black Belt on November 2nd! You've always been an awesome, dedicated, and inspiring Martial Artist, Mr. Jose, and now you've got the belt to prove it. We're proud to have you on our team.

Another "Congratulations" goes out to Gabriella A., our November 2019 Student of the Month! Great work, Gabriella! (photo coming soon)

Who will win for December and be the last Student of the Month of the decade?

As for December business, we hope you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving, because the USSD Orange County Tournament is this Saturday! Team San Clemente will head up to Santiago Canyon College in Orange this Saturday to compete in Sparring and Forms events against students from other USSD studios across the state (and some from out of state too).

If you registered to compete on or before November 23rd, then your competitor lanyards and spectator wrist bands are waiting for you to pick up at the Dojo some time this week (if you haven't done so already). If you signed up after the 23rd, you can pick yours up at the ticketing office outside the event venue as early as 7:30 am on Saturday.

To see the Event Schedule which lists the start times for each division, Click Here. Please note that students should plan to arrive to the Tournament at least 30-45 minutes before the start of their first event, and they do not need to be there at the listed "Check-In" time. If you have any questions about the schedule, or if you need help, please speak with an Instructor ASAP. If you need assistance on the day of the event but can't find one of the instructors, you can send a text to (949) 361-9111 and we'll meet you at your ring as soon as we can. Go Team San Clemente!

There's still time to vote for us in the San Clemente Times' "Best of San Clemente" Awards! Please vote for us for:

USSD Martial Arts - Best Martial Arts Studio

Bully Blockers - Best Camp for Kids

CrossFit San Clemente - Best Gym

CrossFit San Clemente - Best Group Workout

You can Click Here to head over to the SC Times website to vote for us and the rest of your favorite local businesses and events. Thank you for showing the Dojo some love!

Once we've wrapped up our last serious event of the year, we'll celebrate on Saturday, December 14th with our 7th Annual Dojo Family Potluck! And this year, we'll also be hosting a Toy Drive for Family Assistance Ministries to help struggling families in our community have a brighter holiday season. If you'd like to participate, you can bring new, unwrapped toys for kids ages 0 to 12, or gift certificates for teenagers to the Potluck and we'll deliver them to FAM of San Clemente (if you can't make it to the potluck, FAM will be accepting toy donations all the way up until Christmas. Please note that a toy donation is not required to attend the Potluck).

All of our students and their families are welcome. Please RSVP on the sign-up sheet at the front desk with the number of family members who will be attending, and the dish you'd like to bring to share. If you can, try to make it by 11:00 am and wear your Gi and bring your trophies for our 2019 Team San Clemente group photo! We hope to see you there!

Happy Holidays! The Dojo will be closed for our Holiday Break from Monday, December 23rd through Saturday, January 4th (CrossFit will remain open during select days and hours during the break, please see their website for more info). We hope to see you all back in January ready to smash your 2020 training goals!

We hope you and your family have enjoyed a fun and productive year at the Dojo! Keep an eye out for our 2020 Calendar of Events coming soon! From all of our instructors we wish you a very Merry Christmas, a Happy Hanukkah, and a Happy New Year! We'll see you in the Dojo!
